Polly Frost returns to the Bard’s Town with her new one-person show, “Bad Role Models and What I Learned from Them.” In November 2011, Polly performed her first show here “How to Survive Your Adult Relationship with Your Family” to a sold-out audience.

In her new show Polly asks the question: We’re all told we need good role models, but really -- who do we actually learn the most from when we’re growing up?

With that in mind, Polly pays a comic and heartfelt tribute to four people who could easily qualify as “bad” role models, but who taught her more valuable life lessons than any “good” role model ever could. Set in Southern California during the 1950’s through the 1970’s, Polly’s tales are ones that everyone can relate to.

Louisville audiences may especially enjoy the stories of Polly’s American Saddlebred Horse riding teacher, Aloha Robinson, who was a former Hollywood starlet in silent Westerns and a runner up for Miss America in 1926. Even though Aloha liked to drink Scotch at 8 AM in the morning and had drawerfuls of unpaid bills, she taught Polly about pursuing one’s passion in life and never giving up.

WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING:

“I watched in amazement as Polly Frost worked magic on her audience … for sheer stage presence Ms. Frost is in a class by herself. Armed only with memories and a microphone, she held the crowd spellbound for an hour and a half -- a powerful reminder that simplicity can triumph over spectacle.” Jaime Lubin, Huffington Post

"Polly Frost gave one of the greatest one-person shows that my wife and I have ever seen, from Broadway to the Edinburgh Fringe, simultaneously funny, cuttingly acute.” Jonathan Vos Post
